CP Electronics gains BS EN ISO 14001:2004
To reinforce our commitment to the environment, CP Electronics is pleased to announce it has achieved BS EN ISO 14001:2004. This is the international standard for recognition of the company's environmental management systems and is assessed to extremely rigorous standards.
The assessment activity comprised of four separate audits which measured the effective implementation of the proposals that formed the certificate. Just some of these assessed areas included:
- Detailed site tour to observe waste identification and segregation
- Operational control - All operational aspects of waste control
- Emergency preparedness - Training and awareness of emergencies
- Training competences - General awareness and specific training of staff
- Aspects and impacts - In normal and emergency situations
- Objectives and targets - objectives of energy reduction, sourcing sustainable sources, identifying raw materials with lower environmental impact, supplier evaluations, ongoing recycling , and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification
- Internal communication of environmental policy and activities by various means
- Awareness of top management activities and subsequent energy saving costs reduction
This ongoing and continuous assessment reinforces and demonstrates CP Electronics' strategy towards sustainable environmental management, through energy saving innovative controls.
