Luminaire-mounted microwave presence detector
Designed to complement the wide range of sensors in CP Electronics' product range, the new MWS5 compact microwave presence detectors are available in two options; the MWS5 specifically for mounting inside luminaires and the MWS5/SA which can be mounted directly onto a wall or discreetly on the ceiling. Lighting designers can incorporate the unit into their projects with ease, whilst the unobtrusive nature of the sensor means that the occupier of the space will not be aware that the area is being controlled.
The presence detector consists of the sensor head which can be mounted in a number of positions, depending on the type of luminaire, and the power supply unit. A flange mounting receptacle allows the sensor head to be mounted onto the rear side of a diffuser or to be fixed through the front face of the fitting, or it can be mounted onto the gear tray cover using pre-moulded fixing lugs.
The MWS5 can actually see through any plastic enclosure so it can be incorporated into sealed housings without the integrity of the fitting being compromised. The power supply unit, which is supplied in a low profile, ballast style housing, is mounted in the gear tray; power connections are push fit and the sensor head is plugged in. Time, lux and sensitivity are easily adjusted via two discreet push buttons on the front of the sensor head.
